Horseshoe waterhose stand
HORSE SHOE WATER HOSE STAND
Here is a little project for all you Bus Nut overachievers. Anywho ... here it is ... It is a horse shoe water hose stand.
You will need (1) 36” section of gas pipe (size is optional, I used 1”), (1) gas pipe cap, (4) 1” plastic plumbing 90* angles and a four-way. You will also need 1 horse shoe (I found mine at a local horse shoeing school, don’t know what you are going to do) and finally, access to a welder.
It might be necessary to buy some 1” angle brackets to steady up the pipe when you install it in the lower base. Just depends on the size of the hole you make in order to insert the pipe. I threw in a couple of brackets on mine for “just in case.”
You can put the entire thing together in a matter of a few hours, cost is minimal, and it will allow you to spend some quality time with the person you seem to like the most (yourself) in your shop, garage or Man Cave.
Walla, finto!
Paint to the color of your choice (in this case it was chrome or silver) and throw it in the bay.
Last: If you find the thing unstable because of the weight of the water hose (it is after all, going to be heavy on one side) it is possible to steady it up. Just pack a small piece of rebar with you, when you arrive at your destination and set up, drive the rebar into the ground, set the hose stand on top of it and when you leave pull up the rebar stake and store it with the stand.
There you go, your very own weekend handy home-improvement tip from This Old Spouse, tune in next week, when we build a paint booth in the backyard out of of old Walmart plastic shoppin bags .. check your local stations for listings (Wonder if BCM would pay me $50 for this, it is somewhat technical in nature. I-DONT-THINK-SO.COM).
See you in the fast lane ...

Well now Mister fix it ya gotta love a man whom finds things to do with his free time I will admit it is a nice idea , However I might add some shade tree , farmer , oil field add vice I would lose the little leggy things and stick the rebar in the ground and slide the pipe over the rebar . Nice job there Don and I was wondering if you were able to fit that in with all the Oprah reruns . Luv ya man but you can't have my Bud . Later

No not really, gravity really doesn't affect me that much as I don't way all that much to start off with, unless I hit the asphault . How about this, the bars aren't all that high
Even in the military, I knew I was destined for bigger and better things, like my forty over chopper, yes it was long ( 11 foot ) and a hundred and 32 cu. inch monster that even the sport bike crew couldn't touch . any body up for the challenge

Geez Van--do you need an over-length permit or pilot car to ride that on the highway? I'll stick with my ol' Electra Glide!

That's what happens when you move to the left coast :lol:that bike made it into the 30 anniversary easy riders mag back in 00, and built 35 more just like it for customers across the U.S. with another 20 or so more rollers. it was a frenzy when we unveiled it in Pomona. boy I miss the excitement .
